Well it's a sunny Sunday, about 60 degs here in the Sandhills of NC, so out for a spin in my '96. Just turned 59000 miles today also. Headed south down US 1 towards Rockingham. Hardly anyone around, saw no 'vettes. Top speed limit is 55 so you gotta kinda watch it but goosed it up to 75 on stretches where I could see, just to get the cob webs out. When you get down there, the venerable Rockingham Speedway comes into view. I'm a NASCAR fan and I finally move down here and they drop Rockingham as well as Darlington off the circuit. Turned around and headed back. When I drive on US 1 now, I can't help but remember that I drove that route when I got discharged from the Navy, labor day weekend in 1962. I had a brand new 1962 Red MGA at the time. US 1 was the main route, as 95 was still being constructed. I drove from Jacksonville, Fl to Long Island. Believe me the 'vette is a lot more comfortable then that MG was, but what the heck, when your 22 its just an adventure. Speaking of Jacksonville, I don't have a dog in the hunt, but "GO Eagles"

I used to drive from Jacksonville to New York every weekend. I drove a 68 GTO, not mine, but another Marine's who was afraid to drive it long distances. I made that "swoop" from Jacksonville to the Port Authority at 41 Street and 8th Avenue in under 9 hours a couple of time. Wow, that was a life time ago. Your right, when your young you can do anything.
Mothers Day weekend there is a NASCAR Race on Saturday night at Darlington, I will be there also Martinsville, Charlotte and Richmond are all close enough to you to visit. Went to the last six Rockingham races, will miss that track. It is a beautiful day here in Eastern NC today. Went for a ride earlier came home washed and detailed the car, looking forward to the nice weather forcasted for the next couple days.
