95 radio problem

95 radio problem
the radio/cd player will not play. when you turn it on (sometimes) "svc" appears to the right of the clock. All of the lights come on to the various buttons, but no sound. "1:00" stays on the clock- does not change. dealership told me over the phone that it would cost $375.00 to send off to check it out. Any possibility it could be a fuse????? If so, where is the fuse located for the radio/cd player? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just bought the vet this past weekend.

Never had that problem - yet. Problems right after a new car purchase can be so discouraging. Don't let this get you *too* down, because the radios in C4s are NOTORIOUS for being lousy. My only piece of advice is to *Stay Away* from the dealer for radio repairs. There is an extremely reputable repair place (in TX, I believe) called "Dr. Don's." He specializes in repairing and rebuilding Delco/Bose (aka Delco/Blows) headunits, and it will cost you MUCH less than what the dealer will rape you, ...er... charge you.
