I got mine done at AAMCO. (My cousin is a franchisee.) It came out fine, but I think my cats breathed their last when they were removed to do the clutch. My 87 needed a new flywheel and clutch master. All tolled, I paid a little over $1000. You might want to check out some of the independents in your area too. There are some great mechanics lurking in unseemly looking garages.
YOu can get a clutch and pressure plate for about $350. You won't need a new flywheel unless yours has either a lot of play of has been gouged from old clutch.
I put a new cluch in my with it up on jackstands. Not fun - but doable.
well i am just 23
would probably buy a new clutch and flywheel and have my local shop do it as i wouldnt know what the heck i am doing.
any ideas on a good place to order a clutch/flywheel for a 96 coupe?
thanks

Hey i'm 19 and I just changed mine out myself using an autozone clutch, first time I got under the vette. The clutch was $250 and I spent two weekends much better than paying $500 for a dealer clutch and another $700 for labor, take a dive and do it.
