just got pulled over by a state trooper about 20 minutes ago.
He had me step out and show him license/registration/insurance....and said he clocked me doing 75 in a 65. (my cruise was set at 73) And asked if there was any reason why I was going that fast....just told him I was on my way home from the girlfriends house and just had the cruise on. and then he just told me to slow it down. Quick and painless. I think he was just checking to see if I had been drinking. Whatever, so long as I didn't get a ticket, I'm happy.
That's not a close call. I got pulled over last month for doing 107mph in a 55 and the officer let me go. Now that's a close call. Haven't had a speeding ticket since November 23, 1988 and am hoping to keep it that way. Thank you Mr. Officer and have a good evening. I learned my lesson

Lets see 2 years ago I was crusing along on my BMW motorcycle at 110 when a county mounty comes around the curve from the other direction. I see his brake lights so I just pull over and get the paper work out the helmet off and wait for him to arrive. You should have seen the look on his face when he drove up and I was waiting. After checking my license he issues a verbal warning and lets me go. I think he was in shock as I was openly admitting my error and asking for him to do his duty. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago the wife and I were crusing along on the super slab in are 4 door barge. Traffic was running in a tight pack at 70 after several miles of this I decided to brake loose and get in the open so I could run along in the open. Low and behold just as I do this there is a state trooper in the meduim. Sure enough I see him start to come after me. I waited for him to catch up and just pulled over. He checked my license and said I had not had a ticket since 96 so he issued me a warning thicket and told me how much he appreciated my just pulling over and how polite I was with him. Now heres the close call my wife knows nothing about the motorcycle incident and had that officer issued a warning it would have shown when I got stopped the second time. At that point I would have gotten a ticket for 81 in a 65. But I would rather face a wild bull than my wifes finding out about this.

Well-l was going to tell you what close really is-but we're not allowed to discuss certain things on the forum. But I'll never forget that CA Highway patrol man-nicest officer I ever met.

Even when they do right us a ticket but for much less then what we were traveling I always thank them. Specially when traveling 60+over in a 40 zone while taking part in a non-sanctioned acceleration event with another vehicle.
