Seat covers EASY question!
I want to some new install a seat covers on my 87 std seat.
I took the cusions off the frame, and see the leather is mounted on to the foam with small "hooks"...
Well.
Do you install the new seat covers on top of the old leather, or do you pull the old leather of, and install the new covers on the old foam?

i bought my seat covers from wilcox through ebay, satisfied with their service, fast shipping, and seem to be good quality.
p.s. havn't installed them yet need to do weatherstripping first

[COLOR=Indigo]I have to agree, you can buy Wilcox on E Bay cheeper then their site. I just spent a few weeks looking for the best price. You might want to look at new foam as well, yours is now 16 years old and it could be a mess when you take the cover off. You can also buy your new covers already mounted on foam. Wilcox E bay price is $760. I found a new set mounted (leather) for $650 but I was watching the posts everyday. You can also get Vinal for less, it will save you about a $100.

Do a search on seat covers here and you will get some very good info. The hardest part of this is getting the wires that hold the center folds in the seats attached thru the foam. Someone posted about using the plastic wire-ties for the hard to reach places. I did mine with stainless steel wire. A lot easier than trying to fight the Hog Ring thru the cloth that holds the wire to the cover, then thru the small hole in the foam, and then around the wire on the back of the foam.
Just take your time and make sure the cover is smooth.

wow looking at those prices you might want to check with local upholstery shops, there's one here in Denver that does excellent work and they quoted me $300 per seat to redo them with new leather. Just an idea.
