I have a 90. Took out radio and had it refurbished. Re installing the radio and just noticed this connector laying there under the center console shifter cover. Two wires go into it and it looks like is should connect to something, with a metal post going through the middle hole. I don't remember removing it from anything but don't want to button everything up it is attaches to something. Here is the pic.
I think it goes to the LT5 (ZR-1) power switch if so it will not be used on an L98..90 would be the first year to have this plug
don't have a 90 Service Manual but a 90 would only have two wires to the switch as it had a light in the DIC..My 91 Manual does show a Dk BLU/WHT & a DK BLU wire it also has a 3rd wire for the led at the switch. Hope this helps
The piece has two wires going to it.
One is a thicker blue with a white stripe
The other is a thiner black with a white stripe
There are 3 holes labeled A B and C
the middle hole looks like it has a metal "grip"
so that if pushed over something metal it would make contact.
It doesn't go to the cig. lighter. Doesn't appear to go to the shifter.
By the way, I took out my radio and had it refurbished. Now it plays cds and cassettes, but no sound. None. The radio guy said when he hooked it up to his tuner, even initially it worked fine. So he is suspicious of the tuner. Does this sound right? I hate to pull the tuner if it is the speakers. Would one speaker out kill the sound? Got the instructions on how to get to the tuner off audio section. Going at it right now. (also posted this part in audio)
