Man, was this ever a chore. How in the hell do you get to the screws on the bottom? I ended up getting the top screws out and bending the box enough to use some cutters to back the screws out.

After all this work the part from Mid America was bad. The left top of the piece is smaller and now I have about a 1/4" gap between the top of the piece and my dash pad. They are sending me out a shipping label so I can send my part back and once they get it they will send me a new one. Or I could pay for a new one and they would re-imburse me once they gey my defective part back. The quality of this piece sure is bad. The edges are all rough and just poor quality all around. Hopefully the new piece will be a better one.

Ive been contemplating the same mod. That looks so much better than the breadbox....ive also read about the same problem you had with those lower bolts giving you hell. WTF was GM thinking on that one?

Heres a pic out of my vette library...not that I like the carbon fiber, but to each his own. The monitor was a bit neat.
