Default Front license insert

I have had the car for a month, 94 blk/blk coupe. The previous owner
had a front plate on and it was missing the corvette insert. After ordering one from local chevy dealer went to put it on and the bottom two screw holes lined up ok but the top two lined up with nothing., whats up?

The top of the insert has tabs that fit into two slots. The bottom has holes for two screws.

Unless they handed you the wrong year one. For example, I have one for my 92 vert that had extra, and when I put it on the front of my 86, the bottom holes matched up fine, but nothing to mount the top tabs to.. Its not unheard of to get the wrong product in the right box....After trying what I did, im pretty sure there is a difference between the first generation c4's and the latter.

hope this helps
