I took my plenum and intake runners along with my valve covers to have them powder coated and then reinstalled them. After waiting for a long time for the stuff to be done, I got them on Monday afternoon and started the car. It turned over and ran and then died. I did this several times with the same result. I did not change any settings and everything went back like the maintenance manual said. The engine will run as long as I pump the pedal but stops when I stop the pedal movement. I'm thinking air in the line but it may be something else. Any ideas. I haven't check the fuel pump but it sounds like its working.
Go back over your install and make sure you got everything plugged back in.
The 'easy' visual stuff:
1) TPS
2) IAC
3) MAP
4) IAT
5) MAF
Then check all the vacumn items:
1) PCV Drivers Side Halfway back on the manifold
2) Power Brake Port Rear Of Plenum
3) Vacum Port At Rear Of Plenum For All the Reat of The Vacumn Items
4) Anything I forgot onthis list
Have a helper keep the engine running while you're listening/looking for a vacumn leak.
Then make sure the spark plug wires are routed correctly.
Start with #1 and verify all are routed to correct plug.
Make sure the base timing is set to 6* +/- 2*
Disconect the EST plug before settingthe timing.
That's enough to keep you busy for awhileand you'll probably come across the soultion while you aregoing back over the install.
Goodluck with it and keep the slick side up and the greasy side down.
Hey Pete, I'm betting you are right...
about all of us leaving stuff disconnected. LOL !!!
I've left all the stuff I listed disconnected at one time or another.
It's actually amazing what you CAN leave loose and these things will still crank up and try to run.

Like Pete said the booster vac line or even a leak after the mass air flow sensor.

mine does that when I screw with stuff, last time I just kept my foot on the pedal with the rpms at about 600 until it warmed up to about 200 degrees and then slowly eased off and now it's perfect.
