Flywheel (I guess I really mean flexplate)
So guys, I'm having trouble finding anything on the flywheel in my manuals. I've lost a tooth or three and don't really feel like traveling with a 5/8" socket with me everywhere I go. Is the flywheel on 87's hard to get to? If I get a chance to replace it, any suggestions. The car's an auto in case you're wondering. Any questions and comments are appreciated.

Well, if you have to ask the first question, then my suggestion is to not start this unless you have someone to help you who has some knowledge and some tools. Oh, and a Helms manual....
(yes, you have a flexplate. If you had a manual trans, then you would have a flywheel.)

ah okay. I do have a helms manual. everyone I was talking to have consistently referred to it as a flywheel knowing I have an auto. I really don't have any tools to aid me so it would be a matter of finding the right person, which is why I asked if it was hard to get to. Worse case I have to take it to a shop I suppose and if that's the case I could tack on the other things I'd like done.
Thanks guys for being patient with my miniscule knowledge of the subject.

this is still what the starter tries to kick over right? I don't know if you guys remeber but a while back (and still) the starter won't kick the engine over unless I advance everything by hand (if that's how it happens to be acting at the time).
My understanding from what you guys said is that the starter in an auto turns the flex plate? I think I've thouroughly got myself twisted around the axle now...
