I would like to introduce myself to the C4 forum. I’m Vinnie, I’m from Washington State, in the Olympia area. I am very active in our local club and like doing most everything that comes along except shows. Here is my story, my wife and I purchased our first Vette about 7 or 8 years ago, it was a 64 Vert and we had it for several years. After the second year we bought the wife an 87 coupe to drive in the summer and when we went on long trips with the club. Turned out the last year we owned them I only drove the 64 2 hundred miles. With that being said, at the end of the summer in 2000 we traded both of them in on a C5. In October of this past year I lost my job, while the C5 was paid for, I knew we were in for a huge lifestyle change if we wanted to stay here and not move to the Mid West to follow the job. So we made the decision to sell the C5 and start looking for a clean C4. I was shocked when we sold the C5 in the first week. I forget people seek us true Vette guys out. You know our type because your reading this. A 5 year old car with 18000 miles on it and it still looked perfect. Long story short within the first week I started looking for a C4. We ended up with a Triple Black 92 with 50K on it. Needed a lot of cleaning but a nice car. The good part was we could bank about 20K and still be in the game, so a good choice over all. I did get a job offer on the day I bought the 92 so all worked out well there.
Now the fun part, 5 coats of Zaino so far, new ZR1 wheels, decided to put in new seats. The car is now coming up to our expectations. I would say another 10 to 12 hours cleaning the engine compartment and it will be a good driver, again, not a big show guy.
Anyway, since I’ve been posting over here for a few weeks I thought I would take the time to introduce myself.
Vinnie
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Yes I can't bit*ch too much or have the whoo is me's. I ended up with a great job, but at half the salary, and a great car. I know there are a million others that would like to be in my position. I'm thankful for what I have, not grumpy about what I don't.
Thanks again, Vinnie
