I got a quote from my local glass place of $110.00 for PPG door glass. I think it's a really good price (96 coupe) but I'm not familiar with the quality of PPG glass. The local guy said that's who makes the factory GM glass, I wasn't aware of that. Is it true? Anyway I suppose I'm looking for pros and cons.
My original glass is really scratched up and I'm not going to bother with used or trying to have it polished. The guy said tempered glass can't be polished anyway.
Actually LOF made the glass for GM. HOwever it is not uncommon for more than one vendor to be used on glass. You will never notice the difference between the two. They are both quality parts.
If you have a guy that will install them for that price , I'd either make sure he has done one of these before or make sure he is not into S&M.
These are a PITA no matters what. If I can help let me know.

Thank you for the response. I already have them out and I'll be installing them myself also. I really didn't find the job that difficult, it's not fun by any means and I expected that. I took my time, took lots of pictures and used the manual as much as it could help. I also took the time to order new inside and outside seals, all felts that touch the glass and new plastic parts.
