Default DIC problem

No not that one, the one in my car..

A couple of days ago the DIC started flickering and last night it started flicker real bad and everytime I hit the brakes it dims down for a second.
I should note that I ran my battery down twice in the last month, but the last time was over a week ago.

And no, viagra did not help.

Maybe Cialis will get things up & running again.

Check the voltage level reading on the dash as the battery or alt may not be keeping a full charge.

Sounds like you may be having alternator problems. What does you Voltage reading do when you hit the brakes?

Check the simple things first. Look at your ground connections especially the battery terminal. Make sure its clean and is torqued to 15Nm. If you see wildly fluctuating voltage readings there is a good chance its a ground issue. The other system grounds are under the battery area.

You said you drained the battery down a couple times, have you had the cells checked? You may have damaged a few and its having a tough time accepting a charge.

But marginal grounds will show up as all kinds of gremlins.

Yeah, but only for a day and a half

Check the alt, battery then grounds.

Ok, with the car in park with only the radio on, the volt display was jumping from a low of 13.7 to 14.5 and everywhere inbetween. I checked the battery ground and it is clean and snugged tight. Will have to wait for the weekend to check the other grounds. I thought of the battery, but for 4 or 5 days after I had to jump it, everything was fine. But I will stop by Autozone and have it checked, but I had it checked after the 1st time and they told me it checked out good.

Definitely sounds like a faulty ground somewhere. If you didn't torque it, snug may not be sufficent. Did you hit the contact points with a wire brush? I know it sounds simplistic but many electronic problems can be traced to circuit issues.

If it jumps between 13.7-14.5 Vdc after the engine has warmed up you may have a battery problem. My reading will go into the 14 Vdc range just after startup but it is steady with a slow drop into the mid 13 Vdc range as the engine warms up and the battery gets charged.

If the battery checks out ok, look to the connections at the terminal block behind the battery and at the grounds.

Also, you might check voltage directly at the battery terminals with a DMM.
