Never heard of this before, but the screw for the ground is stripped!
Anybody ever try to cut off the end and replace with a new one?
Or would it be best to just replace the whole cable?

What do the threads in the battery look like? The battery female threads are typically lead and the post in the cable is steel. You might try a thread chaser in the battery terminal to make sure the threads are clear.
