Default Door panel removal

Hello, we are the newbies from East Texas with a 92 coupe. I have been trying to read previous posts hoping to find the answer, but now it is crunch time!

How do I get the door panel off ?! As far as we can tell, the single screw left is behind the lock.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Well, I'm in the same process myself.

There are screws along the bottom in the carpet, I believe 5. Two are on each outside edge of the panel. You need to remove the bezels for the handle also. Pop the light out above the handle, it has one behind it. Behind the power window switch is another. Behind the handle is another. And you need to take off the sliding door lock piece. You lift the piece from the front and it gets off the lock mechanism in the door. I'm stuck on that final part myself, but the car is getting motor work done and I've left it for the moment until it comes back.

I think the piece you are missing is the one behind the door lock. You need to move the door lock to the "lock" position all the way over it goes past the standard point this is very hard it took me a couple of trys to get it. You have to remove the felt that is glued behind this lever. Once you remove the felt you will see the head of the screw. Move the lock over and it will allow access to this final piece. I had to put new weatherstripping on my 90 Vette and this was the hardest part.
Good Luck,
Randy

Got it! What a booger! Thanks for your help.
Have any of you made repairs to roof panel? Mine is beginning to separate. Any ideas on the type of adhesive used to secure it?

It took me a couple of hours the first time I removed the door panel on my 89. I can now take off the panel in about 15 to 20 minutes. You will be removing this again in the future! They are fun to drive, but either you pay for upkeep or repairs or you do it yourself!
