Be Gentle
So I was checking out my crappy exhaust which I need to replace and was screwing around with the muffler, because it has a broken weld. Well It wasn't holding very level and wasn't really connected very much. SO I tried to get them back together a little better, nope... In the end to get it hanging right I... *gulp*... used some bailing wire just to give it a little more support.
I noticed that the brakes in the car are also a little less responsive than I'm used to, compared to our truck and impala, like it takes longer to get a response. My guess is tht it probably needs bled or something, what do you think?
Also it seems to get a little loose when I'm turning and hit a rough spot in the road, it's not enough to make me actually slide or anything, but it gives the car a little shimmy, could the shocks need replacing? It just desn't seem to handle as well as I thought it should. Then again I may just be paranoid.
That's all for now, maybe I'll post a pic later of my latest mod! Wire adds 5hp right?
I use to break the muffler welds all the time. As soon as the Vette sounded real good I knew I needed to get them rewelded. This was on my 86 but I've not had a problem with the 95.
As for the other problems... it sounds like you need to put a little work into the old girl...

OMG!!! What were you thinking??? Using a non-GM part to get it drivable??? Are you nuts <I hope you are catching the sarcasm>. Dude, do whatever you need to to get by for now, but don't let that be your ultimate solution. As for the brakes, I'd try bleeding them and also check the lines to make sure they are still good

I beleive they're elims
The weld that broke is right behind that clamp on the right. I could be wrong about what mufflers I've got though. Both welds were pretty ugly, the bead all the way around wasn't very even, very lumpy.
