Default Bad Forum Transaction

Okay, about a month ago I bought a used part from someone on the forum. Communication was okay leading up to the transaction, but as soon as I paid, it was hard to get a response from the person. Every now and then I would get a message saying that the they were going to ship it "the next day" a week would go by and I would get nothing. So I would try again and again I would get "ooops sorry, I will ship it tomorrow". Then a week later, nothing.

Basically, I paid on 2/18/05 and on 3/18/05 I finally told the member "nevermind" and that I would find another one. On 3/19/05 the member offered a refund. Now it's 3/24/05 and I have no refund, and no response to any attempts for communication. I know that this member is active daily on the forum, so I know that they see my messages and e-mail. What do you guys thing I should do??? Am I being unreasonable? Should I just count my losses and move on with life? If the member in question is reading this, please know that I'm not "Mad" I just want to be done with this. I'm sure I will get from alot of people so I'm sorry if this is completely inappropiate for forum conversation.

Post the name of the forum member you have been dealing (or not dealing) with. Your misfortune will help the rest of us avoid the same problem with this member.

For you to have sent money on Feb. 18th and to have received nothing but excuses 5 WEEKS later is totally unacceptable.

This forum relies on the GOOD FAITH of everyone, but sadly there are always a few in the crowd that have to ruin it for the rest of us.

Next time demand to use Paypal and pay with visa credit/debit card then you got 2 ways to get you money back. This is the internet world and more and more places take paypal.

Well I don't want to post the name of the member just yet. I still want to give them a chance to make things right before I drag their name through the mud. I still have great faith in this forum, and I know that 99.9% of the members of this forum are great, honest people. Thiat's why I love this forum so much. I have been on MANY different forums and this one by far is the best as far as member sare concerned. All I want is a refund. If I get one, then I will drop the issue.

okay I started a claim with PayPal. I really want to post his name but I know that he contributes daily to the forum and I want to give him just a little more time to make things right. I don't want him to be able to say that I didn't give him a fair chance

I applaud you for not wanting to instantly roasting the person.

Maybe when the issue is resolved, you can post a "Issue resolve with <name>" that way people can decide on their own if they want to chance it in the future.

Here's link to a page on eBay that lets you get hold of the person your dealing with. I've used it a couple of times when emails don't seem to work.

http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQtZvbQQsofindtypeZ9

After filling in the information, you'll get an email from ebay with the sellers telephone number and other data that might help you "lean" on him/her to get satisfaction.

It is not HIS name that we are worried about. It is OUR money. A lot of us do business with others here. If there is a bad apple, _I_ want to know about it.

You are doing US a dis-service by protecting a person who has kept your money for over a month. If I send money to some thief that YOU knew ahead of time, but kept quiet..... How do you think I will feel about you?

Not only that, but the impression is that you are using this thread as some sort of threat to the other person. While that may or may be illegal, it is certainly not the kind of thing I would want to get involved with.

I agree, I feel Forum members should protect other Forum members from future bad transactions on this Forum. It is the only right thing to do

Calm down guys, give the guy a break. He'll reveal the name as soon as he's ready. He wants to give the guy one last chance to try and make it right before screwing up his name, he just needed a little input first.

If it's a scam we'll know about it soon enough.
