upshift indicator on auto?
i've had my vette for about 4 weeks now and i have noticed that whenever im going up a hill for a while, easy and consistant on the throttle the upshift light will come on. so i press the clutch, wait...its an automatic, i dont get it. if the computer thinks it should upshift, it should upshift right?

Your 86 does not have an electronically controlled transmission. Were you in "D" or "OD" when the upshift light came on? Mine will come on anytime I have it in "D" and travel over 50mph for about 30 seconds. When it comes on, if I chose to put it in "OD" the light will go out, or if you let up on the throttle for a second or two, the light will go out.

I know awhile back someone was having this problem and it was because the car had been regeared which would rev pretty high on the hwy and the upshift like would come on, makes sense to me.
however this guys problem does sound like it's probably something completely different!
