Wtf???
is GM thinking??? Recently I posted the concept pics of the new Fbody line up that GM was to introduce in 2007-8. And now I find this... http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/...-gm-cuts_x.htm
Is the general trying to hand Ford the mid level sports car market??? Because I think it just happened.
Hey, Bob!
Bob's answer:
1-Kill off an American tradition that would increase sales
2-Build heavier and uglier SUV's because the price of gas is disgustingly high
3-Offer the public some lame consolation prize of a roadster
4-Just close your eyes and do the opposite of what makes sense

GM has been a technology leader for decades and always seems to blow it! Only reason they didn't kill the Vette and Saturn lines is those groups had the sense to move off to their own Divisions.

But [Lund] pulled the plug on the North America models after determining the vehicles could not be engineered and assembled to sell at prices competitive with the popular Chrysler 300C, Ford Mustang and other models, without sacrificing quality and content.
The most important lines in the article posted by "kwik ta" are:
"The 300M is a watershed car......like the Ford Taurus.......GM has no answer"
That about sums it up.
It sure is retarded that they plan to kill Buick or Pontiac and those are the brands they are hyping up in the market. Everywhere you go in St. Louis there is something about the new Buick Lacrosse or anything to do with Pontiac-Action

I was also informed today that the POS Cobalt is the first and only Chevy to carry the famed SS badging and have less than 8 cylinders. It is getting sad when Ford is becoming more and more interesting to follow

Not true - A few years ago I owned a 1994 Chevrolet S-10 SS, with a 190hp V6 Vortec.
I guess I'm not really all that surprised. I went out looking for a new family vehicle yesterday. Compared Ford's new 500 to Buick LaCross. LaCross has a higher base price with fewer features than the Ford. The Ford leads its class in half a dozen different areas, while LaCross seems to be a compromise in every area. The automobile press says LaCross would be an excellent value-if it cost $3000. less than it's currently priced. And, the LaCross is considered one of GM's recent successes!
Good Lord! If this is an example of one of their best, what's the rest of their line-up like?
