If the vibration in my car is bad tires, what should I replace them with. I don't do any corners on two wheels, but I would like a softer ride, if the tires can help in that department. I'm going to get them balanced this week (unless it rains all week). What are they worth?

with Mr. Mojo. I've got Pilots on my car and I love them. I will be getting BFG's next as the sizes I need are no longer available with Michelin. Depending on the sizes needed, the KDWS is an excellent all weather tire that is also Z rated with a 40k mile tread wear. I think that is still the best around.
I love my Goodyear Eagle GS-D3s. As far as ratings, they're second only to the Pilot Sports on dry pavement (but not by much), and slightly better than Pilot Sports in the wet. However, they're quite a bit less expensive than the Michelins. Check out the ratings and reviews at tirerack.com.
From my experience, the Goodyears have a very smooth ride and are quiet.
I just bought a set of GS-D3's a few months ago and they are by far better then my last set of Michelins. Really aggresive looking from the rear in the 315 width and comfortable. Quieter than the Michelins too. Very grippy even in the cold climate. Summer should be even better. Had them balanced on the Hunter Road Force Machine. Highly recommended if there's a shop that has one near you. I think Tire Rack uses that machine.
I like the Michelin Pilots, but they are pricey and the sizes we need are getting harder to find.
BFG's would be my second choice.
If you need a tire hook up, I go to Tirecraft on Route 9 in Howell.(tell them Frank the UPS guy sent you)
I'm guessing you'd be going to Tire Farm, I haven't been there in years.
Actually I was thinking of Barney's at County Line Rd. And Rte. 547. They mount a lot of slicks for guys I know, and are recomended. You like Tire Craft huh? If/when this rain stops, I'm getting the tires balanced, and if they are bad as someone suggested last week, I'll strap four new sneakers on her.
GoodYear F1 GS-D3... its a great tire at a reasonable price.
If $50 a corner is important to you and you don't mind an import tire
Kumho MX has some good reviews and few of my club members have been very happy with it

and check their prices, too. They may be much lower than you'll pay locally. Several on the Forum have had good success with them.
Goodyear came on your Vette and they are rated at the top....no ricer tires for an American Legend ....
I hate to burst your bubble but the C6-R race car uses Michelin. Domestic cars contain so many imported parts it's hard to say where anything is from anymore.
