Reason: spelling
When I got my Vette, it had been driven by a little old man on one mile trips to the store for years, then sat idle for two years.
I used seafoam in the gas and oil (double dose, twice in the gas). It's nice and clean now. The seafoam was recommended to me by a friend who is a semi-truck fleet mechanic. They use it regularly.
But right after that, I changed a lot of parts, the ox sensor among them.
I still think it's safe if you use as directed though.
Used it for years on cars, truck, boats and the vette. IT WORKS GREAT. BUT i don't follow directions on the can-recommended by a friend. I have always just added 1/2 to fuel tank, and sucked the other 1/2 thru vacumn line (never liked adding anything to my oil).THE important thing is to KEEP the RPMs up, around 1500-2000 while sucking it thru the vac. YES, it may fog the 02 and throw a code-but it burns off the 02 and you simply need to disconnect the battery for a few minutes to clear it (you may have to do clearing the code twice).
What totally convinced me it worked was on my boat. I fish for salmon alot and the engine is normally in gear and at idle-it would carbon up so bad ocassionally it would cough and puke out carbon on the water-I mean alot, and this caused my transom to turn carbon black. After I used the SeaFoam-that problem was totally cured.Of course on the boat I used it maybe once a season, on the vette I've used it maybe twice in 6 years-I do mostly in town driving and very seldom use the free way. GO FOR IT.
I am a firm believer in Seafoam. I use it every 10,000 miles in my '91 Vette, 1/2 can through the PCV valve, the other 1/2 can through the fuel tank, and about 500 miles before that oil change, I put one can into the crankcase. It seems to clean everything out good, improve throttle response, and appears to clean the engine internals well. (My '91 has over 160,000 miles). It has not thrown a code or created a problem as of yet. I use it regularly in all my vehicles.

I like it. I've used it for a couple of years now on all my vehicles with no harmful effects. I have no idea if it is helping anything, but I know it hasn't caused any codes to be thrown in any of my cars. Several years ago a gm mechanic told me this was good stuff and I've been using it since.
