Default Compatible Heads

A friend of mine told me that I could put some heads on my c4 that he built, ported , ect.... However these heads after looking them up online they were 305 heads. True the heads were done up right but really, those heads on a 350. Is this true or is my bud smoking sumptin?

A friend of mine bought a set of heads from a company called areo head. Their heads are off a 305 also, can't remember the casting number. They were made into 2.02 etc. Decent springs etc. He put the heads on his car and it ran slower then the factory 1.94.

I know that they can be worked a little to perform, but who wants to change them if the were not worth it. Heads are a very important, it is cheaper in the long run to get it right the first time.

I'm sure your friend is proud of his heads-and they should bolt up.
But IMO opinion you'd be going backwards using these. Get one properly sized for your motor.

The biggest bottle neck on an L98 is the intake, basically a 305 part. Nuff said? I know they've made some 305s that are somewhat performance oriented but they are really the biggest POS to ever be called a SBC. I'm sure if you do your heads, you'd be much better off.

A car mag said, "the 305 is the weakest hiperformance motor that GM ever built".
