Default Ride Height?

Tring to find out the actual ride height of a C4. I think mine sits to high. Also where do you measure from the wheel well or rocker?

Before I lowered the rear of my '88 I measured ride height at the center of each wheel well, before dropping the rear about 1 1/4".

I just installed a new HDD onto my PC so my records are in limbo till later in the week.

Ride height dimensions are found in the GM Service Manuals. There is a porcedure to measure the ride height and it involves having the otherwise empty car at its curb weight (car "at shipping weight" with full coolant and full tank of gas) and tires inflated to the psi value on the door placard.

With the car on a level surface bounce the car at the front and rear by raising the car 38mm, let it settle and measure the distance from the ground to the level part of the rocker panel just at the right angle of the black vertical portion. Then push down 38mm and let the car settle. Do this 3 times and average the measurements.

This measurement is taken at the lower front of the door and according to my 92 manual, the distances are:
Front
base coupe 193.26mm
FX3 and Z07 190.9mm
base vert 20200.3mm
ZR1 and FX3 193.1mm

The rear is also measured in the same way but by measuring at 486mm forward of the centerline of the rear axle.
Rear
base coupe 192.8mm
FX3 and Z07 191.2mm
base vert 199.6mm
ZR-1 and FX3 199.6mm
