rear hatch won't open
I've got a problem that I am not sure what to do to correct. I replaced my rear hatch solenoid today and closed the rear hatch on my 1996. The new solenoid is trying to release but the window will not release. Consquently I am unable to get it to open at all. I have tried to pull the little wire that is provided to override the solenoid and supposedly allow you to open the hatch, but it does not accomplish anything.
Any ideas about what I should do?

As you pull the little wire, have some one gently, but quick push down on and release the rear hatch -- may have to repeat several times quickly. Have them push directly above the latch. I had to do this when mine started to go bad, should work in your case as well though
Once you get it open you need to adjust the latching mechnism -- probably moving it up just a little. When I replaced mine, I had to adjust it a little to get to release correctly
