Filled up at Hess yesterday in North Florida, $2.47 for 93.
Call it greed if you like, but I'll take capitalism over socialism or communism any day. Ever wondered how many vettes are currently on the road in communist China, or were on the roads of the former Soviet Union before the iron curtain fell? Ever seen a communist government-manufactured sports car?
I don't like paying high prices at the pump and feeling like a victim of "big oil" either, so I bought stock in Exxon in January and keep on driving the vette like I stole it. Closest to a win-win situation as I'm going to get...YMMV. Just my humble opinion. No need for hate mail, etc, etc.
Did the stock in double cross go up? Sounds like a good idea.
Its up to $2.85 for premiuim just north of Los Angeles. Sickening. Glad I don't drive it as a commuter car. Been thinking about getting the wife a Prius the way gas prices have been rising...

Exxon-Mobil (XOM) is up over $9 from when I bought in January. Valero Energy Corp (which I didn't buy...DAMN!) was in the high $40's in late January...today it's around $74.
Might as well get paid to play (at least a little!) with the vette instead of just paying to play. :o

it's $3.03 today for premium where I live... 45 minutes north and it's probably a dollar more... and then further north in oregon it's probably a dollar cheaper
There are a number of CF members in Europe, we need to recognize and empathize with their pain. It's much greater than ours.
Secondly, before taxes, gasoline is cheaper in Europe than here because it is a lot closer to the source of the oil ( North Sea and Middle East) so transportation costs are much lower.
Finally a Starbucks venti Capucchino( 16 0z,or 1/8th gal) will set you back about $4...... I get a lot more miles and alot more smiles out of a gallon of Premium.
DAMN! you guys need to stop crying like small boys
the CHEAPEST gas here in Denmark is 6.25 $/Gallon, and considering thats I havé just paid 23500$ just to get the plats to finally drive my vette, I really and and when hearing you crying
BUT hey now you know that someone out has is worth than you, ans STILL have a BIG grin on my face when driving my vette
I Saw a few stations with lower pricing today. Regular on Friday was $2.19. Today it was $2.14. But I didn't look at super. I'll tell you tomorrow as the audi is nearing empty.
In northern NJ I paid $2.26 for premiun this past Friday (Sunoco 93 octane). The same gas in south jersey was $2.19. I've seen the price difference between north jersey and south be as much as $.20/ gallon.
I agree it sucks, but its as much about the global economy as greed. India's and China's economies are growing like crazy and they're sucking up oil like there's no tomorrow, but they are not producing any.
Those of you old enough to remember will recall the early 70's when gas went to the "outrageous" price of $.50/ gallon. Now we think four times that price is a bargain.
I've seen $2.28 a gal. naer me in north Jersey, (Sunoco Ultra) I remember the gas crisis in the '70's although I was a little kid. Remember the odd/even lic. plate number days!!! and the lines were incredible!
Well, here in the breadbasket of the nation it's 2.37-2.47 for premium. Speaking of the gas crisis in the 70's I remember 40 cents just about killed me. As I tell my students, I remember putting gas in my car at 16.9 cents/gallon when we had gas wars in the early 1970's (I'm only 50 years old). now those were the days!
Yesterday ,low of $2.19 near Riga MI to $2.39 in Lansing MI. for Regular and $2.39 to $2.61 on Premium.
While I was driving I heard a report that said average U.S. price this week is $2.35 BUT not to complain..... England is $6.00/gal on Premium and Amsterdam is $6.50/gal.
Not at all a fair evaluation. Europe collects a large amount of their taxes through the sale of fuel products. But, you know, if you are going to look at foreign countries, don't forget to include the Middle East where fuel is still around a dime a gallon!!
We just got back from a trip to Redding, CA for Kool April Nites. I run regular in our `56 Chevy, and paid $2.39 in Eugene, $2.57 in Medford, $2.86 in Dunsmuir, and $2.75 in Redding. We totalled $135 in fuel for a 700 mile round-trip.

Hmmm, wonder what wages are now compared to then?? Do you think the same wage earner makes more than four times increase?
I recently read a comparison of gas prices vs wages from the early 50's and today approx 50 years later. Don't remember the exact numbers of the per gallon price or wage amount, but the bottom line was in the early 50's you bought 2.27 gallons for an average hours wage. Today it was 2.28 gallons for an hours wage, based upon minimum wage.
Now I don't like the current prices anymore than the next guy, but I suspect that we are really no worse off than 50 years ago. And I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't know anyone who earns minimum wage driving a vette. I would think all of us earn far more.
I just consider myself lucky to be able to drive what I want, when I want and that I can get all the gas I need w/o sleeping in gas station lines like I did in the 70's to get $3 worth of gas (approx 6 gallons), and only if you had a quarter tank or less too. Personally, the only way I'll stop driving my vettes is when there is no more gas to be had.
