Default Just might be DOING IT!

My wifes cousin in Lake of the Ozarks,Missouri has a 99'C5 with 50K miles on it,auto, New Michelins all the way around with 01' chrome wheels. This is a very clean ride. Red outside, tan inside. He might be wanting to sell it. I would have first shot at it for 19-20K. I would be having to part with my 91' to do this. The 91' has new shocks all the way around, newer tires, it's an auto with a magna-Flow catback system on it. Around 50k miles on it,but, there are a couple of things that would need attention, nothing major. I would sell it low{$8,000-$8,500} What are your thoughts on this if I were to do this....You can look at my corvette photos and see. Midlifecrisis91

I duon`t know; all things being equal, I would rather have your `91 with 50k on the clock than a `99 with the same mileage. Your body style is classier. IMHO . Plus both cars are in about equal condition, so you will be paying 8-9k just for the privilege of driving a newer body style thats in the same condition as the one you have.

I'd wait it out, you've already spent some time and become attatched to your '91, plus it's yellow which I think was fairly rare back then. Trading up for a red C5? Yeah, you never see those, right?

I love C5s, but unless it was something special like you have right now, keep the C4.

I love seeing low mileage C4's. Went to my CPA's tonight, and turns out he has a 91 C4 red/black with 28k miles. That car was showroom perfect inside and out! Turns out he's an old timer who's had quite a few over the years.
Trying to get him to join CF!

Yeah, maybe it's just something to think about at this time. I don't want to do anything hasty. I like my C4. I'd hate to let her go so soon. I still have the C4 fever and I don't think a few aspirin would cure it. I have to keep telling myself, You don't miss a good thing until it's gone.

Have you ever driven one? I can honestly say the car is not for me, but to each their own.

I agree. While the C5 is an awesome-looking Corvette, they lose much of their appeal when you are in the driver's seat...especially the A4 cars. Not that they are not perfectly capable, not at all. They are just so competent, that they seem like your father's Oldsmobile. And that's not to say that a good driver in one won't run off and leave your C4, either.

I have a friend with an '02 A4 coupe. I drive it quite a bit when she comes down. The C4 and the C5 are apples and oranges.

Default Thought about it but staying the course!

I've got a 91 and yellow too! And I've had the same kind of thoughts getting a '03 C5 from a friend of mind that is going to buy a '06 C6 later this year. Mine is clean with 67K 3:07 A/T and the C5 is White, A/T with standard rear but, only has about 11k on the clock.

I have been going back and forth regarding the decision and have concluded that I would kick myself in the *** when I saw my departed C4 on the road. Although, I never have driven a C5, but have heard many comments and the one I remember most was "it's like driving a sofa." And I really want a car that feels like it fits me. You slide in and the car just seems to close around you like a glove and you feel part of the car. Never say never, but for now and immediate future I'm staying with my baby.

Two Vettes are better than one! I will be glad to store the 91 in my garage for you and to exercise it every few days too it you don't have room for both! What's a brotha for if he isn't willing to help out!

Keep your C4 , buy the C5, it needs a stable mate....
They will be happier if they don't have to sleep alone

Looks like I'll most likely keep it. I don't want to be dealing with any finance issues right now. Maybe down the road in a few years or something. Just can't beat the looks of the C4. Wife also says, kid needs braces.

You made the right decision keeping your yellow c4. I would love to own a yellow c4 it has always been a dream car for me but i had to settle for a black one unfortunatly but i guess a black C4 is better than no C4
