Default What would you do?

I found a 1991 Turquiose Metallic C4 with 98K. A three owner in good condition. The current owner is asking $9,400. but I think he would take less. KBB Value is $7,500.

My question is; would you buy a Corvette with 98,000 miles? Why or why not?

If they are maintained well, 98,000 is nothing for an L98. These motors generally live at low revs, giving them the ability to last. 200k is not unheard of. Currently 124k and running strong as ever!

I did and found a 1990 Corvette with 142,000 miles and paid only $8,000. I wanted a Steel Blue with Blue interior. It was very well taken care of with only a few issues. I am very happy with it.

If it was fanatic maintained then it should be OK.

Price seems a little hight to me, and by a little I mean really high, especially with that many miles. I got my '92 with only 53k miles and great condition for $9k even. For the price that owner is asking, you could get a little new one and get the vastly superior LT1.

It would depend on my budget, if I were you and can afford to spend a little more, and being that it is a buyers market, I would look for one with a lot less miles. Remember even thow these motors can handle well over 200,000 miles, you have other wear on the car that will need attention on a car that old.

So bottom line is NO, I would NOT buy that car. I would look for a newer one with less than 60,000 miles.

you should do a little bit of research and appreciate what a smokin deal you got on that 92.especially with the wheels it had.
of all 92 owners on this forum,i know for a fact you got one of the cheapest deals here.
nothing wrong with that,in fact-congratulations
i just feel you dont realize you did in fact get a rare deal especially when i see you judging values of others based on what you paid.
most all of us in the last 2 years paid between 12 and 16k for our 92's.
mine was 15 3yrs ago at 31k miles, like new condition.
i felt it was a little high after seeing many others here but your car at your price was a STEAL.
appreciate that.

to the question:do an archive search for "high mileage" or such and you will find that 98k is no big deal for a properly maintained c4.
that 91 turqois in clean shape is well worth 9700 bucks.thats a unique and gorgeous color too.
if you can get it down a little bit thats even better.
check the nada price on it,nada's usually a little closer at pricing vettes than kbb.
use kbb if your buying and nada if your selling

vette prices vary by quite a bit by region too.its quite amazing the price differences for different places on the planet.
but, many elements age vehicles harder than others too so that has to be considered.
