My vett has a black interior with red exterior on an '86 and red T top.
The current black roof li9ner is torn so Im gonna replace it.
How do you think it would look if I redid the roof liner in red also to match the body paint and the red corvette floor matts?
My last Corvette, a 1987 Coupe, had both the glass and painted roof panels and the headliner of the painted panel was starting to "droop". So I found myself some dark grey headliner material (to match my graphite leather seats and carpet) at Eastwood Co. and cut out the old
headliner with an exacto knife. I then used the cut out material to make a patten on the new material making sure it was a good 1/2 inch larger on all sides. I then sprayed the stripped top panel inside and
carefully applied the new headliner using a small dry paint roller to make sure the glue and fabric were sticking properly. I then trimmed off some of the remaining material at the edges of the roof panel and tucked the ends under the panel frame using a rounded tip plastic putty knife. The job turned out great and it certainly made the interior look a little lighter inside when the painted top was on. I now have a 1995 Coupe with only the glass top, but plan to get a fiberglass top sometime later
this year.

I think it would look pretty good. Try to get the fabric to match the paint as closely as possible... Once installed, though, it's bound to look different due to the lighting differences b/w interior and exterior. Regardless, I think it'll look cool. Be sure to take pics of the progress!
