Default Pressure washed engine....NICE!!!

I know how many of you are expecting a horror story to follow, but I actually pressure washed the engine and it came out beautiful. I've always gone in there with a tiny wire brush to clean out all the gunk, but my friend convinced me to wash it. Sure enough....a huge pile of chunky gunk ended up on the pavement and draining down the street. I appologize to mother nature....but hey....my engine is shiney as new. Another guy I know did the same, but figured his distributor needed cleaning too.....I'll let him tell his horror story.
I'll post pix soon.

yep, a pressure washer sure makes engine cleaning quick and cleaner...just keep the distributor(l98) and the t-body dry.

Default What precautions should be taken before washing engine?

I want to do the same thing. What precautions should I take to make sure that I don't mess up something?

I can't see using a power washer , and if your engine was that dirty to begin with why power wash it now ....mine is clean enough to eat off and never had to spray any water at engine at all ....better safe than sorry . Glad you had no problems and engine is clean ...

WOW, that does look great! Can you describe the process so we don't have to ship our cars to Hawaii for you to do it for us?
