Vette explosion and fire

They go their training from Great America Bumper Car ride operators.
The really annoying part was the seriously slow response of the fire crews. It was agonizing watching the car burn and no one approached. And when they did, they sprayed each other with the crap and not the car! Talk about morons.
Does anyone know if the owners of the track are sanctioned? That tape is a real damning piece of evidence as to how poorly run that track is. I would never consider racing there.
It's one thing to sign a release, when you expect reasonable response. But when it takes 30 seconds for the firemen to get there, that's neglegence. A release does not excuse one from being unprepared.
Did the owner have any recourse with the track operators? If the fire crews had been stationed correctly, they would have had that fire out as quickly as the driver was getting out of the car. It's that simple.
This young sounding man could only think of "holy f'in ****" to say?
How descriptive!

I've raced at this track quite a few years ago, and the same applies now as it did 25 years ago. The owner goes by the name of Broadway Bob, as I stated in the above post. It's quite the circus atmosphere nowadays.
Yes, it is a sanctioned track, but not for what these guys were doing.
This track regularly/weekly holds "Grudge Racing", a non-sanctioned event. You (anybody) pay your money,go thru a tech line, get in line, run down the track, and get an ET/speed slip. No classes; you may line up against a top fueler out practicing, although the track crews will normally let those types of cars run by themselves, for the same reason that the video in question shows- fires,explosions,roll-overs,etc.
There is no sanctioning body emergeny crews at these events, it's local volunteers manning most posts, the tech inspector, tree operator and staging persons are the only paid people close to the starting line.
So on these grudge match events, the firemen are more likely to be the beer vendors and burger flippers.
I forget the exact letters, but the sanctioning body (not NHRA) only runs at this track 2 or 3 times a year. It's something like USHRA.
So what I'm trying to say, as relating to this particular video, you sign a release not holding the track "liable" for anything, but you are liable for damage to their property - what a double whammy
And the problem with the kids in the video and how they were so non-descipt purely falls on the fact they were import fan's.
Stereotypically they don't know the difference from a camshaft and a lumbar adjust. I personally can't stand ignorant people like that. They just aggravate me!
The focus is because a release does not automatically allow the officating body to act negligent. For example, they don't provide good fire protection, and then blame you for damaging their pavement when the car catches fire. It does not release them from taking steps toward appropriate track safety.
