unfortunatly was shoved up the butt by a lady yesterday. The back fender is split and the impact has been passed to the rear left quarter panel which has also got hairline fractures in it. Got a quote of $1400 to fix and respray.
Was wondering if it would be worth getting a new quarter panel and fender?
What year is your car? I had two episodes last year costing about $1400 each. Mine is a 91 and had 75k on the odometer. Both insurance companies first proposed to total the car. It's my first and I refused their offer. They both paid to repair the car. Good luck with yours.

Its a 1986, done 91K miles and (was) in mint cond. Thanks, Im just gonna shop around for quotes and hopefully do it without involving insurance.
Personally, I always have to fix them exactly like they were before the accident. Some people try to do the half *** repair and pocket some $ but I don't think that is the right approach to take.
If someone hit you, take all the $$ and fix the car properly.
Good luck, don't get down about it, it will be like new when you are done.
I just rebuilt the backend of my '85- I mean everything, from suspension to glass, myself.
I ended up with a some insight of the tail end of a C4, and a lot of extra parts (including some fiberglass panels).
question for you!
I just had both front and rear bumpers painted on my 92 and I'm not happy with the way either one is lined up. the paint shop gave me some **** about it being impossible to line up plastic and fiberglass panels perfectly but these are a long way from perfect. Is it pretty hard to line this stuff up?

It takes time and effort.
I would return it and tell them you are not accepting their repair.
I can't stand to see a C4 that has a gappy bumper or a misalighned hood/bumper.

For my setup, the bumper cover was actually the easiest piece to align.
Everything on the rear end glues together- except for the bumper. So if you're off by a little bit with the quarter panel (or roof panel) placement, is screws up everything. The bumper bolts to the bottom and the sides of the rear QP's, and uses clips at the top. They should be able to adjust it into place.
