Anyone know how hot the front rotors get on a street driven C4?. A buddy wants to paint the hub and the back of his rotors with 500F high heat paint but is not sure if this paint will hold up. Has anyone done this, if so what brand of paint and temp was used?.

I used regular VHT engine enamel (800 I think) The edge of the rotor burned off within a few days but the rest has retained it's color over the past year and a half.
Ok Im told that 500F paint is plenty durable for street driven rotors anyone know how hot a brake rotor might get if driven a little aggressively on the street ?.

I'm not sure of the max temp a rotor will acheive, but I can attest to this paint holding up to some of the aggressive mountain road driving mine gets. The paint has held up well and when cleaned it does not appear burnt. The calipers as well.
This shot came from the many on my web page when I overhauled the chassis and drivetrain. Lots of soap, pressure washing and elbow grease to get to this point.
