Ask the seller as many questions as you need to regarding the product. Communication is a plus. Avoid buying from sellers with less than 99% feedback. Pay with paypal when ever possible.
make sure you check all his feedback ratings and if he has any negatives find out why and use your best judgement. believe me i learned my lesson the hard way. and a repeat ask any questions you have even if you think it may sound like a dumb one either way goodluck
I have a small horror story. My first purchase was a like new rear fender for my v-rod. It has 3 photos from 3 of the 4 possible angles. It was advertised as LIKE NEW. I won it, received it in a perfectly, shipped well packed box. It had a big ding in it. The ding was in the side that was not photographed. The seller said I must have done it opening the box. I knew better. I had to file a complaint with e-bay and pay pal. Once he saw I was serious, he refunded my money. Buy enough from ebay and you will eventually get stung. If you are a savvy buyer you will do well in the long run. Remember, buyer beware.
If your credit card is tied to your pay pal account, you can dispute a purchase. Pay pal can mediate it and if not positive result you can then go to your credit card directly for a credit , mediation and then final verdict. Remember basics buyer beware, things that sound to good usually are, etc. I have had a couple of bad experiences but alot of good. I limit my purchases to $150 or less as I feel this is the most I can afford to lose. Do not be scared, just be a cautious bidder,.
If the cost of handling and shipping isn't listed, be sure and ask the seller. There are a lot of sellers that overcharge for shipping in order to make a few extra dollars. Dont' wait till the last few minutes to ask a question. Bid the max. you will pay. Most buyers wait till the last minute to make a bid.
Never take it for granted that the seller has the same morals and values as you have. I've bought and sold on eBay for a few years and have been burned a few times but am proud to say I've never burned a buyer.
always pay with a credit card or through paypal if it wasnt for paypal i would have got screwed out of 350 bucks i paid for a set of wheels for the vette it took awhile to get it but they pulled through for me. that was my lesson on checking the feedback everytime. if i wouldnt have paid through paypal i would have just been out the 350 cause i never did get the wheels
Over 700 purchases and no problems. Even purchased 2 vehicles off of Ebay with excellent results. I agree with what everyone else has said but have one thing to add that might help out several of you. Use Esnipe.com to place your bid for you. That way it doesn't give your competition the chance to think about raising their bids. It is bidding software that bids for you at a predetermined time. I usually set it for about 8 seconds before the end of the auction. It will save you from somebody who bids 5 or 6 times trying to outbid you. Some guys get obsessed and want to win so bad they will keep raising their bids just to try and win. Good luck!
i have about 80 or more ebay experiences, and just be aware of the sellers (and buyers) rating. if any red, i avoid it.
ebay is not what it originally was for. it was nice to sell things you had around the home that were one of a kind items, etc.. now every con and rip off is using it and selling crap. and ebay makes the $jack$ on it, so they don't care
i have never bought or sold a car. not sure if i would.
