After driving to and from work last night, i noticed that the car's exhaust was smelling kinda "gassy" ..... like burn your throat gasy.
Then when I get back into town , i notice that their is soot marks near BOTH tailpipes on the rear bumper, so it was not my imagination .
What would be the best place to start with thist problem. I have had the car 2 weeks. It ran great until today. Now keep in mind , i have put more miles on the car in the last 2 weeks then has been put on the car in the last 3 years. (Naughty i know )
Anyway , any suggestions would be great. I am going to hit autozone ina bit and pick up a OBD / OBD II scanner, and hopefully that can point me int he right direction.
with an Auto Xray you should be able to access the BLM's and the intergrator values. If both your BLm's are well north of 128, then the ECM is adding fuel as the O2's see a lean condition. Look at both O2 values to see if they are living most of the time below 450mv. If this is the case then you may have a vacuum leak which is fooling the ECM into a rich condition.
