Default Shocks and Lowering?

I have decided to lower my 88 in time, but I need new shocks now, they are squeaking when I go over speed bumps and such. I was wondering should I buy a different size shock if I lower it? Thanks

Mine is lowered 1.5 in the front and 2.00 in the rear and I'm running the stock (replaced) shocks for around 8,000 miles and no problems yet. And Michigan roads SUCK.

are you sure the shock is making the noise? sway bar bushings or any of the other bushings might be the culprit. my .o2

Changing the shocks is no problem at all I estimate it a two hour job with a beer between each shock. I lowered mine with a MAD lowering kit and thats when I found out my shocks were bad. They didn't squeek or anything. When I took the front shocks off for the lowering kit I found that I could compress them by hand and they wouldn't rebound. I went ahead and lowered the car and put my old shocks back on. Then I ordered my new shocks about a week later.
