Explain: J55 Brakes ?

The J55's are the 13in brakes, as opposed to the early 12in brakes.
Formally a heavy duty option, they became standard in '95
We have an OBDII computer, but the software is still OBDI. You need a special tool for the code reader. On the other hand you can make the codes come up on the dash.

OBDII started in '96, however GM went ahead and put their hardware on the '95 model, its not fully functional though.
