I am going to take my 1995 to her first show this weekend. Two questions. I need to make the wheels shine a little brighter. I assume they they are clear coated, anybody had success with a product or two ?
Last, the hood will be up. Is there a way to shut off the underlights or should I just disconnect the battery for the day. Hope everyone is having a great summer !
i found with the light issue is just to unplug them. from my experience there isn't too much that can be done with the wheels. i have used product after product and my wheels never change. i have been thinking that a quick strip of clear coat material and a good buffing and then have them recleared.
i would think here on cf that someone or two has an answer
When I go to a show and open the hood, I pull the interiuor light fuse. This takes care of the underhood lights also. No battery drain and you can leave a door open or have the hatch open as well.
What I do to make my wheels shine for a day is I spray Black Magic interior protectent on them and wipe it real good. It hasn't done anything to my wheels and it hides the dull spots real well but brake dust and dirt will begin to stick like crazy. for a car show it would work perfect. But don't do this on chrome wheels only painted and coated polished aluminum
For the hood lights you can just pull the fuse. It's forward of the DS wheel well in a weather pack connector (10 amp). A good cleaning and a coat of wax or polish should help with the wheels on a temporary basis.

Yes, just one fuse for the two lights. Only on the drivers side.
I just waxed my 93s wheels with Liquid Lustre. A friend gave it to me and I never tried it on the car but I decided to try it on my wheels. It did a really good job, my wheels looked kinda yellowish before and now they are bright silver.
