I finally got the new actuator for the ride contol ($290) and installed it. I got to drive the car for three days without the warning light, and now the air conditioner is not working again.
I know I have to do the wheel bearings too.
Its got 114,000 miles on it. Maybe after this it will work for a while.

Update: Air conditioner guy could not find a leak. He did a little disassembly and found a pinched O-ring and replaced it. He recharged the system and charged me $0.
This is the guy that changed my evaporator last year. Its good to have a mechanic you can trust. Also, when I went to take the car to the air conditioning place the "Service Ride Control" light came back on.

As for the air conditioner... (I am a DIY fan by all means but...) take it to a reputable shop to see what the problem is. I've blown a few AC units from fiddling with them... and it has become one if 2 things I will never touch on my cars.
I've had it since last august. Anyway, keep on it. It gets better... But be careful when you vent, some people are kind of defensive about their cars here
Today i noticed my weather stripping coming off a little under the hatch. I want some american five star chrome rims and a Corsa exuast.
While all my needs are pretty much for looks, i havn't even begun to mod my car, dont even have a K&N yet with a "cut off lid?" doesnt fit?
what do superchargers run at? 7k?

I now have an '87 which, being 18 years old, I know will have problems that will cost some time and money but I enjoy, at least for now, fiddling with it and driving it. For ease and comfort I think there are more dependable cars out there but for now, I love my Vette.
Granted, any new or used car has or can have problems but I gotta think the Vette has more, even the newer ones. Sometimes though we bring it on ourselves. The car can be running great and rather than leave well enough alone, we'll get a wild hair to modify something and occasionally open a can of worms.
Gotta go now, back out to the drive way, under the hood, so the wife can look out the window and see where I am.

You should run your A/C year round(I forgot to note your location) that has always helped with my A/C not crapping out on me.

Make sure you drive/run it during the colder months and use the defroster. The way I understand it, the system was designed to run the A/C compressor for defrost operations to avoid the seals drying out, cracking and losing the charge.

The only things I have done is change the air,oil filters, and oil.
I have purchased Flowmaster mufflers, and a set of AFS wheels w/ BFG G-Force KDW's, but they weren't really necessary.
I'm very happy with my Corvette.
I didn't want the repair factor.
I paid a little more than market but well worth it for me. I turn the key and dirve. All I do is change the oil and keep her running strong.

My '93 had 36,000 when I bought it and so far in the last 3.5 years I've repleced the exhaust twice, battery, brakes, interior, rear axle, torque converter, ignition system, replaced all the missing screws, nuts and bolts and some other hold downs.
Some of the replacements were necessary, some were upgrades, but low miles does not = low maintainence.
with MrMojo. Low miles can also commonly mean gasket leaks from drying seals. My 84 only has 42K miles on it. But just recently, it's started leaking from the valve covers, intake, and front tranny seal. The valve covers and intake aren't too much of a big deal... but I didn't really want to have to pull the motor or drop the trans. I guess it's either that or let it leak though.
When I got it, the air conditioner had just been converted to r134 and so far it's been ok.
I've replaced plugs, wires, cap and rotor
Serpentine belt
Upper and lower radiator hoses
thermostat
heater control valve
and now fuel pump, filter and relay
The leaks will be next... then I've got some mods planed unless something else breaks in the meantime...
