My C4 .....when I Turn My Headlites On Or Off One Of The Motors Keep Spinning For About 10 Sec. Does That Mean My Headlite Motor Is Going Bad..........has Anyone Else Had That Problem If So What Do I Need To Do................thxs
Timely because I just fixed this problem on my '92 TODAY. When you turn off JUST the parking lights, and the motors wirr for a few seconds (sounds like THUNK THUNK THUNK) then the bushing have disolved. Or it makes the same noise when you turn off the main headlamps. It's a less than $5 fix, but it takes half a day. Seriously, I enjoyed spending a day fixing my car, and it wasn't very difficult. In a sec. I'll direct link to the post that gave me the instructions
Yup, If you have an 1988-96 C4, it's a fair bet your bushings are toast.
You can buy them on the aftermarket from MAM's, Eckler's Corvettes Parts and other speciality houses, or you can go to Home Depot like I did and save even more money.
Nylon bushings (spacers) are available at Home Depot 27/64" x 29/64" (three for .43 cents.)
Ask for item number 595609. You'll need 2 packs of 3 spacers for a total of 6 to do both lights. The UPC code on the package is 30699 87278. Total cost locally was $1.29 + tax.
