Default Z06 wheels

I looked all over and even emailed some companies and have got many different answers to what wheel sizes will fit on my 89. Can I do 18 in the front and 19 on the rear. How big can I go with no rubbing or problems of any kind? Also what size tire would work best for the largest combo with no problems? Will this effect my mph reading? Thanks for you time and I did search around I just need answers from the people who have done this as opinions vary greatly.

I saw a vette this weekend that had 20" shoved under all 4 corners ... personally it looked like a$$... but they fit... so yes 18" and 19" will fit. In order to find the speedo variance, you will have to find out how tall the stock tire height is and how much difference there is. I have a tire size calculator at home that will calculate the speedo variances. I'll send it out when I get home.

I should clarify that I am asking what combo will work with no problems such as rubbing. I doubt 20 will bolt right up and not rub......

20" wheels can fit under the Corvette and not rub. The critical factors to wither a wheel/tire combo will fit and not rub are 1-overall tire diameter (not wheel diameter) 2-wheel offset (or backspacing) 3-tire width. There are a billion different combinations that will fit under the Corvette. I would recommend taking some time to learn how all the different factors effect wheel/tire fitment. There are a few wheel/tire websites that can help explain the variations.

The easiest fit will be the Z06 17/18 combo. That's what I have on my car with 275/40/17 up front and 295/35/18 out back. This will keep your speedometer accurate as well. Here's a pic of my setup:

295/35-18 tires in the rear will fit for sure but the overall diameter is larger than the stock tires, which will make the speedo inaccurate by a small amount. The theoretical diameter of a 275/40-17 tire is 25.66, 285-40-17 is 25.98 and a 295/35-18 is 26.13. Of course I'm assuming the speedo is driven off the rear and not the front tires. I've stayed up late to many nights trying to find the right combination of tire and wheel for my car.

P.S. Admiral94's Vette with the silver Z06 wheels looks great!

Thanks for all the info thus far! I have decided to get the regular z06 wheels in chrome (not the motorsports). I still have no idea what size wheel and tire to buy. Can someone who knows wheels and tires well just tell me what the largest combo is I can run (both wheel and tire size) that will not screw up my speedo by to much and not rub or create any other problems. Thanks in advance for helping a complete newb

The best wheel and tire combo probably for you is an 18x9.5 wheel with an offset of 56mm and a 285/35-18 tire on all four corners. You could put an 18x10.5 wheel with a 295/35-18 on the back but the speedo will be less accurate than if you had a 285 tire. You could run 19's with the same wheel and tire widths but the tire aspect ratio would need to be 30 instead of 35.

It took me a while to figure out what combination of wheels and tires to run but I decided on 18x9.5 wheels with 285/35-18 tires on the front and 18x10.5 wheels with 325/30-18 tires on the back. I can't wait to get them on this weekend.
