Diagnosing wiper problems...removing switch.
My wipers won't work at all. I've got factory manuals but the first thing they say is to check for a shorted capacitor in the 'wiper motor 2-way jumper harness' (if you've got the low tire pressure sensor option...which I do). Where the heck is that capacitor? Chasing the harness looks like a daunting task to say the least.
Next, there's instructions on how to remove the wiper switch (the turn-signal arm)...it says pull the cover (easy), pull the connector (HOW?), and pull the assy toward the driver's door (How?). It looks like a good way to break a couple hundred dollars of stuff if I break something.
Also interesting. I started looking for problems around the wiper motor assy. The connector at the front/bottom look kind of rotton. I r&r'd it. Looks like the 'sealant' used to seal the circuit board to the motor never hardened. It's turned to goo that seems to be pretty destructive to the connector plastic. It was all just a gooey mess.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
