OK, this may not be the forum for this, but I was curious nevertheless. Does anyone here use a cordless electric impact gun to work on their car? I was thinking of getting one to do some light work in the garage and wondered how they stand up to various jobs.
That's what I thought, then I started looking at the torque ratings between the 2 and they seem to be the same or better for the electric ones. I was thinking of using it for small jobs where you might use an air ratchet, like exhausts bolts, etc.
I have an electric impact and a cheap air impact. The el-cheapo air impact beats the electric hands down!
If I am doing lighter duty stuff, I like to put a socket adapter in my cordless drill/driver and use that to trun bols. Mine's makes about 420 in/lbs torque, so pwer has never been a problem.
If I in the market for an electric impact gun today, I would save my $$$$ for a Milwaukee. Just my .02
I have a couple of these 14.4 volt guns. Battery life is excelent, very powerful and variable speed. We use to have Snap Ons, but this Znex is much better. They are cheap too, I paid $140.00.
I bought a DeWalt electric corded impact. Suppose to develope 240 lb. ft. torque. Works great. Haven't found anything it won't remove yet. It may not be as fast as an air powered, but it works.
