Descent into depravity

Over the winter I got the engine compartment cleaned up and installed some new parts. Looks good! Over the winter I have also quit drinking, started going to church again and have been exercising and losing weight. Things are going good at home and work too. Life is perfect.
Spring arrives. Getting ready for a car show in May and Bloomington Gold in June. Car won't start.
Start replacing parts. Give up and have it towed to a shop who gives up and says take to GM dealer.
Stubborn here. Get out the tools, the GM service manual, the Chilton's and the Haynes. Spend tons of time, buy more tools and diagnostics. Spend more time on the Forum and the Action Center. Get lots of advice (some is bad). This car that I love so much is turning into an evil monster and me along with it.
Wife is mad cause I am spending so much time and money on the car. I'm always in the garage and return dirty and cursing. I kick her cat.
I give up on the car and put the cover back on. I'll get back to it some day.
Start drinking again. Stopped exercising. Stopped going to church. Now sleeping with Angela and thinking about buying that Mustang from her.
Help! This car and its problems has ruined my perfect life. Can I sink any lower?
Then I wake up.
It was all a bad dream! It was so realistic that it was freaky! Kissed the wife, gave her cat some extra Pounce treats and went out and waxed the vert.Whew! Anyone else ever have a nightmare about their Corvette?

Edit: The service manager drives a yellow/black guts 02 C5 vert 6-speed that he sticks out in front of the used car lot from time-to-time. Hmmm, maybe I ought to see what they would give me for my 87 on a trade?

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Welcome to my world.
Welcome to my world.
Ron, you wouldn't be in this predicament if you weren't napping in the first place. It was nice out in lower MI... weren't you doing yard work?
The mustang had several things that turned me off. Most noticeably:
1. The dash and windshield config are set up in such a way as to provide a very narrow and weird viewing area out of the front.
2. The interior, even with all of the upgrades, just feels cheap. Tinny plastic dials and vents, wacky naugahide stuff, whatever - it felt cheap.
3. At the price point they have set, and assuming they can actually get their heads out of their rears and produce the cars, everyone is going to have one. You are going to see a bazillion of those things.
Thats just my analysis of the mustang on its own. In comparison to my '93 vette there is simply no competition - the vette blows it away in all categories: appearance, performance, satisfaction.
The mustang is a good car at a great price point. However they are not corvette caliber.

God'll get you for that!
