There's a few things that really make your C4 look good to me. That's the windows and the wheels. You're whole car can be dirty but if the wheels and windows are super clean it still looks good.
I spent about an hour last night cleaning my windows, and then went so far as to vacuum them off with a brush attachment. I picked up my Daughter from here boyfriends house last night and she opens the door, grabs the window to open it fully. Then she gets out and shuts the door by wrapping her hand around the edge of the window and really slamming the thing.
So this morning I'm back at cleaning finger prints off the glass. Why do people think your **** when you ask them not to touch the glass or the paint? I'd bet if they were the ones that spent all that time cleaning they'd feel differently.
Needless to say I think my daughter has taken her last C4 ride for a while. She could just care less at 15 about anyone but herself.
When I was about 16 I use to wash my Dad's Eldorado. One time I took some friends with me and after I had cleaned it all up windows so spotless my friend decided to throw out a slurpee on the way home thought the window was open ... splat all over the inside... kids can be kids.
Here's a trick I recently started, I use Zaino and when I put the Z6 Gloss Enhancer or the new Z8 Sealer on I do the inside and outside of the windows. Makes them super slick and they go up and down much easier as there is less friction against the weatherstrips.
i can relate. kids are kids and the light upstairs won't come on till much later in life. my case was early 30's. my toddler is 2 yrs old and when he is in the garage with me and new wax job can turn to a mess in no time flat. he likes to touch it, he see's himself in the reflection. it is aggravating but not alot i can do. at 15 alittle sit down talk could explain things
my 11yr old son love the corvette, but he love to rub those fingers over everything.. windows, doors, and play with the power seats... he is getting to know the "rules" now...
i have been washing cars and windows for a million years, and have never fully got the windows clean enough for me...
Unless you, and only you ride in it, this is probably a losing battle. Most people think a door handle is only there when its locked and they are tying to in.
How about the tugging of the handle, snapping it and trying to open before power locks can, then it jams the lock on that side, one of my favs!!!
Here is a thought, have another vette so you can give others a ride too
I'd have a talk with her about the slamming doors thing, too. Although you spent a lot of your personal time cleaning that glass, she doesn't and (most likely can't) appreciate what you're trying to accomplish. The slamming doors thing, on the other hand, goes for all cars, IMO. That was one of the first things my dad taught me when I was a kid - no need to slam it. Of course, we were talking about his 1960 Vette, too!

I take it as an insult when someone slams the door. It either means they drive an old Chevy pickup (unlikely), or that they think my car's an old piece of crap and the doors won't latch otherwise.
