I have a 1994 Corvette Coupe/automatic and I want to make sure my Corvette is NOT equiped with the J55 Option that included the bigger brakes. I believe these bigger brakes were part of the standard package on the Z51 and ZO7 packages. Is there an easy observation or measurement that can be made. Thanks
Rotor diameter is 13" so you can measure them. Also look at the RPO sticker under the center console lid and look for "J55". If your car has the Z07 Special Handling Package, the larger J55 brakes are part of that package (as is the FX3 suspension). Z51 was gone as an option, replaced by Z07.
Just out of curiosity, why do you not want the big brakes? ?? That is a very desirable option to have
I use my 1994 Corvette for bracket drag racing and I want to replace the stock front saw-tooth wheels and tires with Weld ProStar 15"X3.5" wheels and Monroso Front Drag Tires. From what I have been able to learn these wheels will directly mount to my 1994 Corvette Coupe without the need of a spacer and/or longer wheel studs as long as I do not have the J55 brake package. Before ordering everything from Summit I'm trying to make sure everything will fit as planned - perhaps I'm being a little too conservative and trying to check out too many angles.
Bill, check your RPO codes for J55, it's onthat tag in the passenger hatch compartment.
If you have non J55, the Weld wheels will fit perfect, that's what I have.
If you do have the big brakes, don't tell Summit, they won't sell you the spacers. Just order them.
If you do find that you need the spacers, please get the longer studs.
The stock studs are illegal as they are, but tech doesn't check too closely.

Franky - the RPO listing is under the center console.
