I discovered a weird thing about the A/C lately....
A few weeks ago the green like underneath the OFF button started blinking, stating that an error was found in the A/C (I had the A/C checked and refilled a year earlier). I pulled the error out and it showed me a "low freon" error...I was then quite concerned as the system was supposed to be full. Obviously I got warm air instead of cool air as soon as I turned it on and selected some fresh air.
But lately I found out that pulling the courtesy lights fuse out and plugging it back made the A/C work again.
Is it a known issue and why is this so?
Thanks
Strange - Programmer provides the memory function, so don't know why pulling the Courtesy Fuse would get it running again. All the schematics I've seen show that it doesn't share any circuitry with the a/c, but I don't have one for your Year. Generally, you need to remove power from the Programmer and ECM to clear a/c codes - disconnecting and reconnecting the battery seems to be the most popular (and you might want to try that and see if the code returns). If you have a scanner, you might also want to see if it has set any of the Pressure Switch/AC Relay codes - mid to high 60's.
Did you have it leaked check before topping off? The old stuff went somewhere and with any leak, a year is easily enough time for the charge to escape. But - I can understand why you might not want to go to the trouble until you work out the electrical issues. If you have a Shop Manual, Power Distribution might show something or maybe someone else will post with the answer.
