E-break
My e-brake works fine, EXCEPT it has decided that it will not lock when pulled back.
If I hold it in place, it's OK. It won't click and stay in place. It springs back to the normal position. That catch mechanism isn't worknig. It's as if the release button is pushed in all the time.
I have to take out the seat to fix it I assume. Is this a real PIA?
No big deal John:
-move the seat back, remove the plastic covers over the two front bolts and the nuts.
-move the seat forward and remove the two rear nuts
-lift the seat a little and open electrical connector under the seat
-remove the seat and set it aside
After removing one screw the E-brake cover should come off to reveal the lever and rachet mechanism.

This is exactly what happened.
I pulled it, it stayed up, and I couldn't get out of the car.
So I pushed in the button and released it to put the handle back down so I can get out.
Since that time the e-brake didn't "catch" it pulls tight, the brake works, but it won't stay engaged to hold the car. It doesn't do the clicking thing when it's pulled tight.

Is it supposed to hold tight then go back down?
It's supposed to hold and click when you bring the handle up. Then, you can push the handle down again (w/o pressing the button) and it will hold. To release it bring it up again and lower it while holding in the button.
