Default Glass Top Question

What all is involved in putting a later style glass top on an early 86? Is it a hardware change only? Thanks

I seem to recall that the front trim piece has to be changed too. Not sure though. Do a search, I know I've read this before a while ago.

You can buy a conversion kit to go from the E86 to late 86+ style of roof.
It comes complete with all the hardware and you cannot tell it appart other than if you measure where your pins are.
You can get the kit from GM when you get the new roof.
Good luck

Make sure that you get the right "kit", there a 3 different spacings on the tops. If I remember, 84 to early 86, late 86 to 88?, and 89 to 96. Yes, you replace the plastic headliner, and the metal receiver on each side. You have to adjust the brackets, pretty much common sense. My conversion came from e-bay, probably from a salvage yard, about $70 with shipping.
