Has anyone replaced there windshield recently? if so, how much did it cost? Mine caught a rock last night and put a crack across the whole last side of the glass.
They're not all that bad.....Seems the windshield missed out on the "corvette tax" Tha last one I bought was under 140 shipped...It does take a skilled installer to put these in though.

Thanks!... That's a little less than I thought it would cost.
Safelite Auto glass quoted me a price of $231.03 installed then called me back and said they have to order additional parts (Trim pieces and gaskets) which would bring the total to over $750
I'll have to check the my GM service manual when I get home but I don't remember reading in the windshield replacement procedure that it required new trim pieces and gaskets...just liquid sealant.
Any thoughts?
by the way I carry a high insurance deductable, since this car rarely leaves the driveway.
MAKE SURE YOU GET an OEM gasket!
I paid $120 (my deductable--I think it was $300 total) to have a safelite contractor do it, and they used cheap hard rubber, which messed up all the seals and fits of the a pillar trim. I had to have the whole thing redone at my expense.
Thanks for the reply's.... So it looks like the weatherstripping would need replacement but I don't understand why they would have to replace the trim too, unless it typically gets damaged during removal.
