i,m redoing an 89 i am have a problem chasing down something that is causing the batt. to drain i am getting a humming sound coming back through my speakers it has the boise when raido is on or off even unpluged everything from the radio even tried a different radio could it be the amps are bad and causing the problem of draining the batt.plus i know these car have some kind of back up power as well as a alt.is this car also equip.with a voltage reg that could be sticking open

2 if the amps could be it how does the front doors ones come out i have already removed the the arm rest and the interior door panel what would be next to do any help would be great in guess my next move is to buy a shop manual will call ecklers unless some one can tell where else to look for books

Bose powers the amps up through a Relay buried in the passenger side of the dash - easiest to access by removing the top pad. Sounds like it needs to be replaced. To see if you can make the hum/drain go away, pull the Courtesy Clock Fuse - that's the Relay's power supply and it's hot at all times. You might also want to pull the Radio Fuse - though it's only hot with the key on.

Sometimes you can reach the relay through the center dash section if you already have it apart to remove the radio.
